👋 Hey there —

I’m J.L. Kauffman, a writer, story coach, and the creator of the WriteNow community — where I host daily writing livestreams to help unpublished authors finally write their first books. My mission is simple: help writers build the mindset, the process, and the lifestyle needed to become full-time creators.

I’ve been writing all my life. I finished my first fantasy book, The Crystals, at age 12. I went on to earn my B.A. in Creative Writing from the University of California, Riverside, where I learned how to shape stories for the page, stage, and screen. After that, I spent years in Hollywood as a freelance ghostwriter — learning how to craft books and stories behind the scenes.

In 2023, I quit my day job and went all-in on my writing business. That’s when I founded The Creative Ghost, where I now coach writers, develop stories, edit manuscripts, and ghostwrite for clients who want to bring their ideas to life.

📚 What I’m Working On

I’m currently writing The Last Scarecrow, Book 1 of my Dawn of Magic dark fantasy series.
I’ve developed it over 600+ consecutive writing live streams, and I plan to publish it in early 2026.
