About Me

Story Developer | Language Editor | Fiction is Culture

Hey there!

I’m Fallon Clark — a Vermont-based fiction editor, story developer, and revision guide with more than a decade of experience helping writers turn drafts into reader-ready books that invite, entice, and immerse.

I work primarily with fiction writers (commercial and literary), guiding them through story development, revision, and refinement — from early drafts to finished manuscripts. My background spans developmental, substantive, and line editing, as well as story coaching and book doctoring, for hybrid publishers, independent publishers, and indie authors.

I’m also the Managing Editor of MetaStellar Magazine, which became the second most popular science fiction and fantasy magazine on the internet in 2023. That role keeps me deeply connected to what readers respond to, how stories land in the real world, and how craft choices translate into engagement.

I know firsthand that writing happens alongside life. I’ve written over 100,000 words while juggling paid work, homeschooling, and building a suburban homestead — so my approach is practical, encouraging, and grounded in momentum, not perfection.

What I Bring to Uptales

I help writers stay focused, confident, and moving forward — whether they’re developing a new idea, stuck mid-draft, or revising a manuscript for readers. I blend craft expertise with clear guidance, accountability, and honest feedback so you’re never guessing whether your story is working.

I’m quick on my feet, steady with deadlines, and deeply invested in helping authors finish the work they care about.
