About Me

TV Writer | World Builder | Horror & Sci-Fi Storyteller

Hey there!

I’m Daniel G. King — a world builder and character-driven storyteller working across television, comics, and film, with a deep love for horror and science fiction.

My work lives at the intersection of genre, emotion, and mythology. I’ve written in multiple writers’ rooms and have screenwriting credits on Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and Sweet Tooth, as well as HBO Max’s Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin. Beyond TV, I’ve sold original show concepts to major studios, published comics, and had feature films optioned.

Whether I’m building fantastical worlds, shaping long-arc characters, or breaking season-long story engines, my focus is always the same: stories that feel immersive, coherent, and emotionally grounded — even at their strangest.

What I Bring to Uptales

I help writers think like professional storytellers working in rooms, franchises, and multi-medium worlds. My experience spans pitch to production, which means I understand how ideas evolve — and what makes them viable in real industry settings.

I bring:

  • Expertise in genre storytelling (horror, sci-fi, fantasy)
  • Strong instincts for worldbuilding and mythology design
  • Character-first development that sustains long arcs
  • Insight into how TV rooms break story and scale ideas
  • Practical guidance on pitching, development, and adaptation

My Approach

Great genre stories don’t start with spectacle — they start with rules, character, and emotional truth.

I help writers strengthen the foundations of their stories so worlds feel lived-in, stakes feel real, and characters can carry narratives across episodes, seasons, or mediums.
