Hey there!

I’m Amy Weingartner — a Los Angeles–based writer, editor, and literary/screenplay agent focused on helping your stories move from page to screen, and your manuscripts from bottom drawer to published.

I work with writers and creators on story development, and market-aware creative strategy. I also teach screenwriting as faculty at The Los Angeles Film School and screenwriting, creative writing, and literature at AMDA (American Musical and Dramatic Academy) College.

My career spans publishing, comics, film, animation, and education, and I’ve held roles as an publishing director, writer, book editor, agent, producer, professor, and entertainment executive.

  • Faculty at AMDA, teaching in M.F.A. in screenwriting program/creative writing/literature
  • Faculty at The Los Angeles Film School teaching Story Structure and Character Creation
  • Began career at D.C. Comics / Warner Bros. working with Tim Burton, then worked as a book editor and comics writer at D.C. Comics
  • Moved to Marvel Entertainment, where she edited Spider-Man Magazine, working with Stan Lee
  • Executive Editor developing content for kids 6-14 at Disney Publishing
  • Editorial Manager at Warner Bros. Publishing overseeing movie and TV-tie in publishing for films/TV properties such as Ready Player One, Wonder Woman, Justice League, Dunkirk, Batman, Supergirl, The Flash, Gotham, Vampire Diaries, Supernatural and more.
  • Author and developer of children’s books including Hero Challenge!, Ice Race!, Toy Box Trouble!, and Treasure Hunt!, The Nightmare Before Christmas "Where's Jack,"
  • Part of Screenland Literary Associates representing authors and screenwriters
